Like every surgery in the land there is tremendous pressure on our appointment system.
To try to meet demand we operate a "Pool" system on weekday mornings. If you feel you need to be seen on the day you may be offered an appointment on the "Pool". You will then be seen by the first available Doctor or our Nurse Practitioner - unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a particular clinician under this system.
We always see urgent cases that day - during busy periods you may be asked to initially discuss your problem with a doctor or nurse to assess its urgency.
Routine appointments can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance.
Many minor ailments can be treated by a pharmacist and it's often worthwhile seeking their advice first.
The NHS Stay Well website gives excellent advice about accessing the most appropriate service if you're unwell
Alternatively the NHS Choices web-site gives excellent advice on the management of acute and chronic illness.
Please remember that A+E is for genuine emergencies only.
Many problems can be dealt with over the phone and it may be more convenient for you to initially discuss your problem with the doctor or nurse. These telephone consultations are proving very popular.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
